Rev. Jeanine De Oya
was born in Philadelphia PA in 1559 Pi. (1959 AD). She studied in the School of Communications at Temple University for a period and but now holds a Degree in Liberal Arts.

Rev. Jeanine has studied Wicca since 1592 Pi. (1992 AD). She became an initiated Priestess in the Correllian Tradition in January of Year 1 Aq. (2001 AD). Rev. Jeanine now heads several online Wicca / Pagan discussion groups .

Rev. Jeanine is a co-creator of the the African American Wiccan Society.
This organization was created as a support group for African Americans and Minority people.  This support group gives comfort to Minority people who acknowledges the Holy presence of the Pagan Goddess and or God in a world of Christianity.

In Year 15 Aq. (2015 AD) Rev. Jeanine joined the Correllian delegation to the Parliament of the World's Religions. There Rev. Jeanine addressed the Parliament as part of a panel on "Diversity in Contemporary Western Paganism".

After the Parliament the Correllian delegation held a special Regional Lustration. During the Lustration, Rev. Jeanine was honored along with illustrious Priestesses Rev. Selena Fox of Circle and Rt. Rev. Linda Isles of the Fellowship of Isis Triad Union. In recognition of her life work promoting diversity and inclusion in the Pagan community, and her work with the African American Wiccan Society in particular, Rev. Jeanine was awarded a religious knighthood -the Meritorious Order of the Round Table- making her Rev. Ser Jeanine De Oya.

Rev. Jeanine is also the author of the highly popular book Portal into the Light of Truth: The First Book of Wicca for African Americans.

Portal Into The Light Of Truth - Review

Wicca is becoming one of the fastest growing religions in the US today. Surprisingly, many who practice are African American and people of color. Portal Into the Light of Truth was written because Wicca is not just Celtic anymore. Its mystical blend of multicultural traditions is open to everyone who wishes to practice. Being an initiated Priestess of Wicca and African American, Jeanine De Oya has been communicating online with African Americans of many pagan traditions. There is a huge community of Black Americans who are Wiccans, Eclectic Pagans, and Christian Wiccans and who buy and read many books on Wicca but feel there is no voice that speaks directly to them. This book addresses the reality of African American Witches, introduces basic Wicca to anyone who wishes to be familiar with its practices and gives support and ideas to Americans of color who already practice this deeply magical and spiritually fulfilling tradition.
