The Fourth Annual Selu Witches' Ball was held on Saturday 27 October and was a great success.

The Ball was held at Hesychia House in Rossville, Illinois.

People came from throughout the Vermilion County area, and even as far  as St. Louis and Ohio to attend the Ball.

Danville Priestess and entertainer Tina Sheedy came with an entourage of Barbarian warriors.

Lady Aine of Crystalline Star made the long trip to attend, as did the Heads of Enchanted Realm Temple.

Local entrepreneur Dee came dressed as Salome, complete with John the Baptist's head on a platter.

The evening included a Samhain ritual led by Rev. Don. Tina Sheedy performed her popular "Ancient of Ancients" circle casting.

Perhaps most delightful is the fact that a number of non-Pagan people from the local community also attended the Ball, joining happily in the general merriment.
Another highlight of the evening was a pyrotechnic show in the Hesychia garden by Witch School head programmer Mike Farrell. In the display Mike used "water" to make fire, and demonstrated some spectacular explosions.

Mike came as a Gargoyle wearing an elaborate articulated latex appliance mask.

As always the Ball included a costume contest. Best costume of the night went to Rev. Don and Lady Debbe's Egyptian couple.

Scariest costume went to Mike Farrell's Gargoyle.

Sexiest costume went to Corey's gender-bending Goth Androgyne.

And most creative costume to Dee's Salome.
