Welcome to the Correllian Question and Answer Map.
Here you will find the most asked questions and narrative we have received to date.
This is not meant to be an all-encompassing list of all Correllian communication channels but rather a list of the primary opportunities for information and social interaction with other Correllians that are sponsored by the Tradition for every member's use.
The first place you should start your exploration is the official website of the Tradition. It has information related to many people who comprise the Tradition, both appointed positions as well as the general membership, the history behind the Tradition, explanations of Tradition structure, regalia and recognition programs and the latest Tradition news as well as many useful links to other Correllian sites.

[48] Correllian Nativist Tradition on Wikipedia
-Information installed in Wikipedia by Rev. Liz Hamilton
The Correllian Nativist Tradition, which teaches Correllian Wicca, was founded by Blv. Orpheis Caroline High Correll, a practicing psychic, spiritual healer, and herbalist. She is said to have founded the Tradition as an entity separate from her ancestry, on September 4, 1479 Pisces (1879 AD). Lady Orpheis called the Tradition simply 'Nativist', and this would remain the Tradition’s primary designation until the appellation of the term “Correllian Nativist” in 1592 Pisces (1992 AD), or as we now more commonly call it; 'Correllian'. Lady Orpheis’ Nativism was a highly political and deeply syncretic form of Pagan universalism, which stressed that the world’s Native (Pagan) religions could only survive through united action against religious/cultural imperialism. The Correllian Nativist Tradition is based upon the teachings of members of the High-Correll family. The High-Correll family was descended from a line of Cherokee Didanvwisgi who intermarried with a line of Scottish Traditional Witches, whose descendants were further influenced by Aradian Witchcraft and by the Spiritualist Church. In creating Correllian Nativist Wicca, Orpheis Caroline drew upon her Native American heritage, as well as ideas of European Witchcraft, Spiritualism, and Hermetic thought. The Tradition has always had both a Matriarchal Head (in Cherokee the Agayv Gigagei) and what might be termed a Fraternal Head, from which the current offices of the Correllian tradition derive their form. The Matriarchal Head of the Tradition was usually the oldest woman, the Fraternal Head her brother or son. [1]
"What is meant by Witchcraft in this connotation; is a relatively unorganized Pagan religious practice involving magic and spiritualism. In my writings I have always treated the term “Wicca” as synonymous with the word “Witchcraft” as defined above, because this is what I was taught, and has been common practice for many in the USA especially during the period when I was learning. Many people now use a much more limited definition of “Wicca”, confining the term to the Gardnero-Alexandrian Traditions: it is important to realize that this is not how the word “Wicca” is being used in these writings. The Correllian Tradition considers itself to be “Nativist” –a word roughly synonymous with “Pagan”. In 1579 Pisces (1979 AD) the Elders of the Tradition decided that it was a form of “Wicca” using the term as synonymous with “Witchcraft” as described above. Ultimately however we consider Correllianism to be something unto itself: “A lens through which all things may be seen.” Though influenced by the movements it has grown up among and at times identified with, the Correllian understanding of the Universe is ultimately simply Correllian." [2] Groups which are not Gardnerian that still employ the word 'Wicca' to their practice are: Dianics, Gaists, Frostians, Circle, ATC (Aquarian Tabernacle Church), Cabots, among others.

TRADITION POSITIONS
INNER COURT - Clergy Positions
First Priesthood
Arch Priesthood
Third Degree - High Priest/ess
Second Degree - Priest/ess
First Degree - Rev. , Priest/ess

OUTER COURT -
General Membership
TEMPLES
Temple - Correllian Temples are be established by charter, which may only be granted by the Heads of the Correllian Tradition through the Chancellor.
Proto-Temple - A Proto-Temple is founded in the expectation of going on to become a full Temple.
SHRINES
Witan Shrine - A Witan Shrine is founded in the expectation of going on to become a Proto-Temple. A Witan Shrine functions in the same manner as a Shrine, with the difference of being considered a formal body of the Tradition rather than a private function of the Shrine Keeper. It’s focus is toward developing into a Temple.
Formal Shrine - A Formal Shrine is basically the same as a Personal Shrine: a private worship center maintained by an individual Correllian Tradition member of either Inner or Outer Court. The difference is that a Formal Shrine is dedicated to a specific project, event, or program of a social or charitable nature which the Tradition endorses. A Formal shrine is created by Charter rather than recognition. To be granted a charter as a Formal Shrine a Shrine must meet these criteria;
A) The Shrine must have been in existence as a recognized Shrine of the Correllian Tradition for a minimum of one year prior to applying for a charter as a Formal Shrine (three years is preferred).
B) To be chartered as a Formal Shrine a Shrine must be associated with a charitable activity or ministerial outreach project of some sort, beyond the celebration of worship.
Departments belong to the Tradition and main duties are to work on Tradition wide projects as well as ensuring the Tradition runs smoothly. Positions are appointed for a two year period. If appointees have worked in earnest within a two year period, they will remain in their position.
DIVISIONS
Divisions are Department off shoots and answers to the Department Head.
[52] STRUCTURAL POSITIONS
[54] Journalistic Publications
The Correllian Tradition has had two primary journalistic publications. The first publication called the Correllian Times started with its first issue in November of 2006 [4] and is currently being published monthly (as of July 2013). The name of the publication was changed to Pagan World Times as of March 2013 [5] and is affiliated primarily with Witch school at this point. The Correllian Herald is the other regular Correllian publication which released its first issue in June of 2007. [6] and is published on a weekly basis. The Correllian Herald remains exclusively tied to the Correllian Tradition, whereas the Pagan World Times does not. The Rt. Rev. Anna Rowe is currently the editor of the Correllian Herald and members of the Witch school staff edit the Pagan World Times. Both publications have featured a variety of articles about Wicca, spells, magick, holidays, pagan events, Correllian announcements, book reviews and much more.

[58] Writing an Annual Lustration Report
By the Elders’ Council
Introduction
The following information is to help Correllian groups submit Lustration Reports.
Along with other indictors the Lustration Report is beneficial because it helps take the pulse of the Correllian Nativist Tradition.
This evaluation tool is an invaluable opportunity to share what you have accomplished in one year as well as an opportunity to communicate and support each other’s great efforts.
Individuals enjoy hearing what the Tradition is currently developing; yet, sadly the busiest leaders do not have time or the inclination to talk about what they are currently accomplishing; thus another good reason for the annual report.
The following are a few poignant questions that will help with writing a Lustration Report, so that the Elders’ Council may glean information in a more meaningful manner.
Lustration Questions Relating to the Witan Herald
Who is the Witan Herald?
- The Tradition’s Witan Herald Rt. Rev. Anna Rowe
Which Groups send a Lustration Report?
- Temples, Proto-Temples, Witan Shrines, Formal Shrines and Orders.
How will I know when to send my annual Lustration report?
- The Witan Herald sends reminders well in advance of the due dates, through many internet venues.
To whom do I send my Lustration Report?
- Send your report to Rt. Rev. Anna Rowe CCE
witanherald@gmail.com
Why is it important to submit a Lustration Report to the Witan Herald?
- The Witan Herald collects and submits all annual reports to the First Priesthood and Elders’ Council for review.
- Sends all reports to the Temple officiating the Spring Global Lustration; so that they may be on display for all Lustration visitors to review.
- The main purpose of the Lustration Report is so that assigned Lustration Readers selected from the Elders’ Council may observe your group’s vitality, by reading what you and your members have accomplished within your community, for the last twelve months.
- An opportunity to observe how leaders work with their own members within their group. We observe work ethic, reliability, loyalty, focus, social skills among other strengths found in a seasoned cleric.
- Help with possible problem solving from time to time.
What are some ways to display Annual Reports in the Global Lustration Weekend?
- A Lustration Report Booklet may be made available through-out the Lustration weekend, giving everyone the opportunity to see what other groups are accomplishing. Some Temples create a big binder of all they have done in the past year. Other Temples have created beautiful story boards depicting all their activities.
It is the groups’ responsibility to inquire if the Lustration Temple is offering the Lustration Booklet for all to read or if the Temple is permitting Groups to present their activities in a creative manner. Conversely, if you present your report creatively you still need to submit your Lustration Report questionnaire to the Witan Herald.
When are Lustration Reports due?
- April 1st of every year.
If my group is not active at this time what do I do?
- If you are not currently active, you only need to answer questions, #1-#15.
- Basically we need to know why you are in-active, or why you are remaining in-active, because we may be able to help you become activated once again.
- We know the immense work involved in heading a Group of any kind. So we do understand when you need a break. And we do understand it is difficult to start a group and to maintain a group.
What if I have a Temple, an Order and two Witan Shrines what do I do?
- If you have multiple groups then a separate Lustration Report for each group must be filled out and sent in by the due date.
How do I fill out the Lustration Report?
Instructions:
- We have made the Lustration Report into a list of specific questions, so all you need to do is simply answer each question.
- Answer your Lustration Report Questionnaire using size 12 font.
- Use Times New Roman Font style.
- Use black text unless you are inserting your Group Sigil at the top of your report, which is optional.
- Keep your answers short, clear and concise. Ask yourself, “What are the most important thoughts I want to convey to the Tradition’s leadership?”
- Fully answer every question to the best of your ability.
- If you feel you need to write a long explanation, please write it in an Outline Format for quicker reading. One Example:
I. Main Topic
A. Sub Topic
a. Topic that relates to sub topic
II. Main Topic
A. Sub Topic
a.
However if you insert your answer next to the posed question you are fine!
- After answering the questions, please use spell check, punctuation and grammar check.
- It is a good idea to re-read the report 24 hours after you complete your work to identify and correct the following:
A. Did you repeat yourself?
B. Are your paragraphs much too long?
C. Did you write complete sentences?
D. Do you have paragraphs? If not please divide your main thoughts into paragraphs for easier reading. A good rule of thumb is: one thought, one paragraph.
E. Are your statements clear? It is always a good idea to allow another person to read your report; asking them, “Do they understand what you are conveying?”
F. If you are submitting a complaint, give solid facts, no generalities, or third party information, because they are almost always incorrect.
G. We are not looking for perfection, just thoughtful answers and readability.
Who signs off on the report, if your group works with co-heads?
- If your group works with co-heads, only the charter holder may sign off on the Lustration report.
[59] Correllian Nativist Lustration Annual Report

[61] What Is Correllianism?
By Donald Lewis, 1st Priest Retired in Office
Correllianism is a belief system that generally is a combination of Spiritualism and Pagan Universalism. Correllians seek to understand the Universe and humanity’s place in it. The nature of Deity (God), the Soul, and Karma, are very important in Correllian thought. Correllians also study the ways in which people can use the higher powers of the Soul, commonly termed “magic,” to influence their lives for the better, and have a strong focus on moral issues such as the Rede and the concept of Virtue.
Correllians believe in the Hermetic Maxim “as above so below.” This is the idea that everything that exists reflects Deity, which is its origin, and also that everything that exists embodies Deity via the Soul, which itself is a small portion of Deity. Thus Deity is in all things and may be accessed and interacted through all things, and nothing is ever truly separate from Deity.
Correllians believe that the Earth is a living thing, as is the Universe itself. Correllians believe that everything that exists has a spirit and can be said to be alive at either a physical or a spiritual level – and most often both. This applies not only creatures that are recognizably sentiment, like people and animals, but also to things like plants and stones which we also believe are living. Correllians believe everything has a Soul, and that at Soul level everything that exists is equal in its potential, if not necessarily experience.
Correllians believe in reincarnation. We believe that all Souls live many lives – countless lives in fact. During its journey through incarnation the Soul begins with simple forms and it gains more and more experiences as it moves to progressively more complex modes of existence. Souls currently living as human have experienced countless lives as simpler organisms before their first human lives, and will experience successively more complex forms of life after completing their last human incarnations.
We believe that as the Soul experiences its many incarnations its awareness moves through the Seven Planes. The Seven Planes are the Physical Plane, the Emotional Plane, the Mental Plane, the Astral Plane, the Soular Plane, the Monadic Plane, and the Divine Plane. The idea of the Seven Planes is one way of understanding successive levels of incarnation. This same idea can also be expressed through other archetypes, such as the Nine Worlds or the Tree of Life. As humans we are generally at the level of the Mental Plane, but are moving slowly into the level of the Astral Plane.
When we say that we are moving through the Planes, what we really mean is that we are becoming more and more aware of these levels of existence. Aspects of our Soul exist in all of the Seven Planes already, however we are generally not conscious of them. The process of becoming conscious of these different levels of being is what by “moving through the Planes.”
Those parts of our being that we are already conscious of are described as the “lower Self,” and encompass the Physical, Emotional, and Mental aspects of our existence. Those aspects of our being that we are not generally conscious of but must work to access are described as the “Higher Self,” or the “Oversoul.” The Higher Self encompasses the Astral, Soular, Monadic and Divine levels of our being. Magic is the art of accessing and using these higher levels of our being, from which what we perceive as reality is created and from which it can be affected.
The Seven Planes and all that are in them are emanations of Deity whose manifestations become more and more numerous as we move from Divine Plane where all is one to the Physical Plane where forms of life are countless. The process by which the manifestations of Deity multiply through the Seven Planes resembles forms found in nature, such as tree limbs or roots, rivers, etc. Where a single line splits off into many which in turn split off into many more, which further split into countless myriad forms.
Correllians hold that Fortune or Karma is the mechanism by which the lessons of incarnation are learned. We believe that Karma is formed through attachment to ideas, emotions, or situations. Such attachments are often formed through traumatic experiences, and pull us back to similar experiences through many lives until we learn the lessons these experiences hold. This idea is expressed in the so-called “Law of Three,” which holds that everything we do comes back to us multiple times. This doesn’t mean that everything comes back to us exactly three times, but rather that things come back as many times as needed for us to learn the lessons they hold. When the lessons of the situations are learned the Karma is released and no longer holds us. Moreover we believe that intentionally working to learn these lessons can speed the process of releasing our Karma.
Correllians place great importance on morality and the idea of “Virtue.” We regard the Wiccan Rede as being the strongest moral statement. The Rede is, “do As You Will But Harm None.” This is a common-sense corollary to the sixteenth century Law of Thelema: “Do As You Will.” The law of Thelema is a statement of ultimate faith in humanity, that left to “Do As You Will,” the true nature of humanity is to do the right thing; but obviously this can be abused, and so the corollary “Harm None, “ is a wise and necessary addition.
Correllians understand the phrase “harm None,” in the Wiccan Rede to refer to the ordinary meaning of “Harm,” as it is commonly understood in conversation, and not to any expanded interpretation. So if a given act would not be considered “Harm,” in everyday conversation, it is not “Harm,” as defined by the Wiccan Rede. Thus the Wiccan Rede prohibits unprovoked or egregious damage, but does notprohibit things like self-defense.
Correllians place a high value on Virtue or “right Action.” Correllians understand all qualities as existing in a continuum stretching from too little to too much, with Virtue being found at either extreme but in the middle. Thus too little of any quality will be bad as will too much—only at the center is the quality a Virtue. Let us consider compassion as an example. Too little compassion is hard heartedness, not a virtue. Only balanced in the center do we find the Virtue of compassion. The same is true for courage –too little is timidity, but too much is foolhardiness. Only at the center is courage a Virtue. Because of this viewpoint Correllians Reject the idea of “Good and Evil,” as opposites, holding rather that Good is in the middle path and never at the extreme.
Correllians believe that the world has gone through many Ages, which have been colored by different energies. We believe that we are currently at the opening of the age of Aquarius, during which we expect to see a continued expansion of consciousness and increasing expression of the powers of the higher powers of the Soul in the material world. We believe that ultimately, far in the future, all of the powers of Spirit will be consciously manifest in the physical world.
Correllians believe that the world is in a constant state of spiritual and physical evolution, and that the future will always be better than the past. We believe that the role of the spiritual person is not merely to improve themselves but also to improve their world, and that the role of a spiritual organization is not merely to preserve and pass on knowledge but to expand and increase knowledge. It is never enough for us to leave the world as good as we found it-we must always try to leave it a better place for our having been here.
[62] By-Laws of the Correllian Nativist Tradition of Wicca
(hereafter referred to as “the Correllian Tradition”).
I. THE TRADITION STRUCTURE
A. CHANCELLOR
1. The chief executive officer of the Correllian Nativist Tradition of Wicca is the Chancellor. The Chancellor is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Tradition, the administration of all records and legal matters.
2. The Chancellor is the deputy of and represents the interests of the leadership of the Correllian Tradition in legal matters of the Tradition. The Chancellor is the principle authority and the final court of appeals for all matters relating to the administration of the legal body of the Correllian Tradition.
3. The office of Chancellor must be filled by one of the Joint Heads of the Correllian Tradition, but may be filled by either the First Priestess or First Priest. The First Priestess and First Priest traditionally act as Joint Heads of the Correllian Tradition. In the event that the Joint Heads cannot agree on which should act as Chancellor, the matter will be resolved by vote of the Correllian Tradition Board of Directors. Once filled, the office is understood to be held for life.
B. FIRST PRIESTESS
1. The First Priestess is responsible for maintaining the sanctity of the Correllian Tradition and its connection with the Ancestors and the Divine. The initiation of all Priesthood, Temples and Orders ultimately derive authority from this sanctity, and thus from the First Priestess. The First Priestess also acts as chairperson for the Correllian Council of Elders.
2. The First Priestess also bears the title of Paramount High Priestess, identifying her as the female Head of the Clergy. The office of First Priestess, once filled, is understood to be held for life.
C. FIRST PRIEST
1. The First Priest is responsible for coordinating relations between Correllian Temples, and acts as chairperson for the Witan Council when it shall be invoked. The First Priest is responsible for the Tradition’s relations with other Wiccan and Pagan Traditions. The First Priest is also responsible for maintaining the Tradition’s history and internal records, and its publications.
2. The First Priest also bears the title of Paramount High Priest, identifying him as the male Head of the Clergy. The office of First Priest, once filled, is understood to be held for life.
D. FIRST ELDER
1. The First Elder of the Tradition is the principle advisor to the Tradition Heads, and to the Tradition as a whole. The First Elder is chosen by the Tradition Heads and is the Philosopher Laureate of the Correllian Tradition. The First Elder is also responsible for overseeing the succession to the offices of the Tradition leadership and succession of all Temple Heads. The office of First Elder, once filled, is understood to be held for life.
E. RETIREMENT
1. While the above offices are understood to be to be held for life, if a person in one of these offices so chooses to retire, they must appoint a successor to be the acting office holder until the retiring officer's death or incapacitation. Then the acting office holder must go through a year of mourning and regency as described below.
F. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
1. The Chairman of the Board of Directors is the First Priest of the Tradition. The Secretary of the Board of Directors is the First Priestess of the Tradition. The Board of Directors is made up of clergy and no-clergy appointed to this position by the Chancellor of the Tradition and shall be a number determined by the Chancellor and shall serve at the pleasure of the First Priesthood. The Board of Directors is responsible for helping the Chancellor run the legal church organization.
G. COUNCIL OF ELDERS
1. The Correllian Council of Elders (CCE) is an advisory body made up of the Officers of the Correllian Tradition as listed above, as well as other members chosen from among highly respected members of the Tradition.
2. The Council of Elders might be described as the “cabinet” of the Tradition, being a council whose non-binding opinion is solicited to help shape national policy. The Correllian Council of Elders may be convened at the discretion of either of the Joint Heads of Tradition, but is chaired by the First Priestess.
3. The principle purpose of the Correllian Council of Elders, besides advising on matters of national policy, is to oversee the succession to the offices of Joint heads of Tradition and the Chancellor of the Tradition.
4. Elders may be considered Provisional or Fully Seated. Provisional Elders serve at the pleasure of the First Priesthood until such time as they become fully seated by vote of the Council. Once an Elder is Fully Seated by vote of the Council, the position is understood to be held for life.
5. Although the primary title of the members of the Correllian Council of Elders is “Elder” they are considered to hold the rank of Arch Priesthood. Membership on Correllian Council of Elders requires nomination by the Council of Elders or one of the Officers of Tradition, and confirmation by the Tradition Heads.
H. WITAN COUNCIL
1. The Witan Council is made up of the Heads of all Correllian Temples, members of the Correllian Council of Elders, and the Officers and Heads of the Correllian Tradition. Only fully seated Temple Heads are considered members of the Witan Council, though Acting Temple Heads may attend and address the Council. The First Priest acts as chairperson of the Witan Council.
2. The Witan Council is an advisory body which may be convened as needed to advise on matters of Tradition policy. However, the principle duty of the Witan Council is to confirm or deny the succession to the offices of First Priestess and First Priest. In the event of the death or incapacitation of either of the Joint Heads of Tradition, there shall follow one year of formal mourning. It is the duty of the First Elder to maintain a record of the current Designated Heir of each Tradition Head, but to keep this knowledge secret until the Tradition Head’s death or incapacitation. During the year of mourning the vacant office of the deceased or incapacitated Tradition Head shall be filled by the Designated Heir, who shall serve as Regent.
3. At the end of the year of mourning and Regency the Witan Council shall be convened to accept or reject the Regent as successor. At the time of the vote, a statement prepared by the deceased or incapacitated Tradition Head regarding the qualifications of the Regent shall be presented to the Witan, provided such a prepared statement exists. The surviving Tradition Head and each Officer of Tradition shall also address the Witan with their assessments of the Regent’s worthiness to succeed.
4. The Witan may then debate the matter if it shall so choose. Finally the Regent shall be given a chance to address the Witan. The Witan may then vote to accept or reject, with a four-fifths majority being required to reject. In the event that the Witan accepts the Regent, the Regent shall now succeed to the office of Joint Head of Tradition for life. The Heads of Tradition shall then be free to decide which shall fill the office of Chancellor, as outlined above, under CHANCELLOR.
5. In the event that the Witan shall reject the Regent as Successor, it shall be the duty of the Council of Elders to select two other candidates for the office. These two new candidates shall then stand with the Regent for a second vote of the Witan. This vote shall be preceded by a debate of the Witan, exploring the reasons behind the initial rejection of the Regent as well as the qualifications of the new candidates. Then the Witan may vote, with a two-thirds majority required to elect any of the three candidates.
6. The debate and vote may be repeated as many times as shall be necessary to achieve the said two-thirds majority. The person thus elected shall then serve as Regent for one year. After that year of Regency, the above process shall be repeated until the Regency is accepted. The accepted Regent shall fill the vacant office.
II. ORDERS, STUDY GROUPS, SHRINES, AND TEMPLES
A. ORDERS
1. An Order is an association within the Tradition dedicated to a particular subject, such as ecology, healing, music, etc.
2. Orders are free to form on a Tradition-wide basis. An Order is formed by a Charter from the Tradition, which may only be granted by the Heads of Tradition through the office of the Chancellor. An Order may be formed around any subject of interest.
3. An Order has a single Head who is responsible for organizing and facilitating it, who is called an Order Head. The Order Head is also established by Charter from the Tradition. The Order Head may be of any Degree appropriate to the Order’s subject, as defined by the Tradition.
4. Regarding the Witan, an Order Head is regarded as having the same status as the Acting Head of a Temple or a Witan Shrine Keeper: that is, they may attend and take part in Witan meetings, but are not regarded as being seated on the Council or having a vote in it. The exception to this is if the Tradition Heads or Elders shall, through the office of the Chancellor, choose to seat an individual Order Head as a full member of the Witan, which honor shall be regarded as personal and non-transferable.
5. The imperium of an Order includes;
a) The pursuit of such activities as may be suitable to the Orders subject matter
b) The organization of Order members to the extent and in the manner appropriate to the Orders subject matter, including the maintenance of member records and the organization of member meetings
c) Registration of Outer Court Members
6. The imperium of an Order excludes;
a) Teaching of classes outside of the Orders subject matter
b) Training or initiation of Clergy
B. STUDY GROUPS
1. Study Group is an informal group recognized by the Tradition for the purpose of studying Correllian lessons, literature, and ideas. A Study Group may exist as a branch of a Temple or Shrine, or it may exist as an independent entity in its own right. Recognition of a Study Group by the Tradition does not grant a Study Group formal existence as a body of the Tradition, but rather acknowledges it as the informal project of a Tradition member.
2. Recognition allows the Study Group to communicate directly with the Tradition leadership and to be kept informed of the latest news and/or publications released by the Tradition.
3. Due to its informal nature a Study Group may be headed by any member of either the Inner or Outer Court of the Tradition. For purposes of recognition one person must be designated as the Study Group's leader. A Study Group is not considered to have a formal membership as such, nor may it register Outer Court Members -these must be referred directly to the Tradition itself.
4. A Study Group may study informally the Correllian Clerical lessons and other materials of interest, but may not formally teach or initiate. A Study Group may also conduct any informal rituals or activities it wishes, but may not enact rituals in the Traditions name (as initiation for example).
5. If a Study Group's leader or other members are Third Degree Clergy (or acting under the imperium of a Third Degree sponsor) that High Priest/ess may formally teach, initiate, and conduct rituals in the Traditions name through the Study Group but under their own personal imperium.
6. Because of its informal nature a Study Group need not maintain formal records of any kind. However a Study Group may make no claims to legal or financial standing or privileges through the Tradition.
7. The imperium of a Study Group includes;
a) Informal study of Clerical lessons and other Correllian materials, or materials of interest to members
b) Informal ceremonies of any sort
8. The imperium of a Study Group excludes;
a) Formal teaching of Clerical lessons or initiation
b) Formal ceremonies conducted in the Tradition's name
c) Registration of Outer Court Members
d) Claims to legal or financial status through the Tradition
C. SHRINES
1. The principle public expression of the Correllian Tradition is the shrine. All shrines before being chartered must be paired with a fully seated temple of the Witan Council to help and advise the Shrine as it develops.
2. In the Correllian Tradition a Shrine is created to facilitate public or semi-public worship and community activities. It is a place of worship similar to but less formal than a Temple. Whereas a Temple must be headed by a Third Degree Cleric to be a fully seated Temple on the Witan council, or under the direct imperium of a Third Degree Cleric, a Shrine may be headed by a person of First or Second Degree.
3. The inner workings of Correllian shrines are pretty much left up to its members, leadership and sponsoring Temple Head. All Correllian shrines are part of the integrated whole of the Tradition in their outer functioning, but are also largely independent in their inner functioning.
4. A Shrine may host study groups, retreats, and informal rituals. It may not however initiate new Clergy, or conduct formal rites such as handfastings, funerals, etc., unless the Shrine Keeper is a Cleric trained to do so.
D. TYPES OF CORRELLIAN SHRINES
1. The Correllian Tradition recognizes several different levels of Shrines, in keeping with the varying needs of our membership.
2. Within the Correllian Tradition there are Personal Shrines, Formal Shrines, and Witan Shrines. Each of these is a little more formal than the one before, allowing for flexibility of organization. The simplest level of Shrine is very informal and highly personal in nature.
3. A Shrine does not have to stay at the level at which it is founded. A Shrine can begin as an informal Personal Shrine, and progress to a Formal Shrine, a Witan Shrine, and to a Temple, if that is what it wishes. Or it may remain a Personal or Formal Shrine and focus on a narrower range of activities than a Witan Shrine or Temple would. They shall be founded as part of a larger entity such as a Temple, Order, or House of Contemplation and run as a branch of it. In any event, to formally be a part of the Correllian Tradition a Shrine must be either recognized (Personal Shrine) or chartered (Formal or Witan Shrine). This gives the Shrine its official existence within the Tradition.
E. PERSONAL SHRINES
1. Sometimes a Personal Shrine is formed as a less formal alternative to a Temple. Other times a Personal Shrine may be formed to fulfill a specific function -as an annual ritual, social event, ministerial or charitable activity.
2. To be an official Correllian Shrine, a Personal Shrine must be recognized by the Tradition. A Personal Shrine is given official existence through recognition rather than Chartering. Recognition may be obtained through application to the Council of Elders through the office of the Chancellor.
3. Though a Personal Shrine may be recognized by the Tradition, it is not an official body of the Tradition, but rather the private project of a Tradition member. Any Correllian may act as a Shrine Keeper, because of the informal nature of a Personal Shrine. A Keeper may be a Cleric of any Degree, or even an Outer Court Member, since a Shrine performs no official ceremonies.
4. However for the same reason a Personal Shrine - no matter what the Degree of the Keeper - has no representation on the Witan Council. A Personal Shrine can maintain a formal membership, and may accept members of any Degree. A Personal Shrine may also register new Outer Court Members under its own imperium. The Personal Shrine is responsible for registering all such new Outer Court Members with the Correllian Tradition.
5. A Personal Shrine may not conduct official ceremonies representing the Tradition (such as initiation). However a Personal Shrine may conduct all manner of informal ceremonies and projects under its own imperium.
6. Similarly a Personal Shrine may study, but cannot formally teach Clerical Lessons, nor may a Personal Shrine initiate Clergy. An exception to this is if the Shrine Keeper is a Third Degree Cleric (or acting under the imperium of a Third Degree sponsor), in which case they may teach and/or initiate at the Personal Shrine under their personal imperium, and may conduct formal ceremonies at the Personal Shrine under their personal imperium.
7. A Personal Shrine should keep good records of its membership, especially any new Outer Court Members whom it registers. However because of its informal nature a Personal Shrine need not keep financial records -but neither may it make any financial claims through the Tradition in regard to tax emption or other privileges.
8. The imperium of a Personal Shrine includes;
a) Registration of Outer Court Members
b) The performance of all manner of informal rituals and activities
c) The study of Clerical lessons and other Correllian materials, or materials of interest to members
9. The imperium of a Personal Shrine excludes;
a) Formal rituals conducted in the name of the Tradition.
b) Formal teaching of Clerical classes or initiation
c) Claims to legal or financial status through the Tradition
d) Representation on the Witan Council
F. FORMAL SHRINE
1. A Formal Shrine is basically the same as a Personal Shrine, described above: a private worship center maintained by an individual Correllian Tradition member.
2. The difference is that a Formal Shrine has a higher degree of recognition by the Tradition. Unlike a Personal Shrine, a Formal Shrine shares in the Tradition's tax exempt status (when this is fully in place), and as such must be headed by a member of the Inner Court. A Formal Shrine therefore has a higher set of requirements than an ordinary Shrine.
3. Notably a Formal Shrine must keep detailed financial records of anything it wishes to claim under tax exempt status, and must file quarterly reports with the Witan Herald reporting these.
4. A Formal shrine is created by Charter rather than recognition. To be granted a charter as a Formal Shrine a Shrine must be associated with a charitable activity or ministerial outreach project of some sort, beyond the celebration of worship. Despite this a Formal Shrine, like a Personal Shrine, has no representation on the Witan Council as it remains essentially a venture of its Shrine Keeper rather than of the Tradition as such.
5. The imperium of a Formal Shrine differs from that of a Personal Shrine in the following ways; the imperium of a Formal Shrine includes;
a) Recognition under the Tradition's tax status
b) A requirement for charitable or ministerial outreach activity
G. WITAN SHRINE
1. A Witan Shrine is a Shrine founded in expectation of its later becoming a Temple. At this time all new Correllian Temples must spend at least one year as a Witan Shrine prior to being officially chartered as Proto-Temples of the Tradition.
2. A Witan Shrine functions in the same manner as a Formal Shrine, described above, with the difference of its being considered a formal body of the Tradition rather than a private function of the Shrine Keeper, and it’s focused toward developing the functions of a Temple. A Witan Shrine must maintain good records of its membership and finances. A Witan Shrine may register Outer Court Members like a Shrine, but may also teach and initiate Clerical students under the terms described below.
3. A Witan Shrine is expected to hold ritual gatherings, and to fulfill the other functions normally expected of a Temple. A Witan Shrine may hold informal rituals like any other Shrine, but it also may hold formal rituals in the name of the Tradition (within the scope of the Shrine Keepers imperium) and it may also formally teach initiatory and other classes.
4. The Keeper of a Witan Shrine must be a member of the Third Degree High Priesthood, or a person studying toward Third Degree and under the imperium of a Third Degree sponsor approved by the Council of Elders.
5. A Witan Shrine may initiate students, providing that the Shrine Keeper holds Third Degree status. If the Shrine Keeper does not yet have Third Degree status, initiations must either be via self-initiation or must be conducted by the Shrine Keeper’s Third Degree sponsor or by another Third Degree High Priest/ess acting as the representative of the sponsor.
6. While a Witan Shrine is considered a formal body of the Tradition, A Witan Shrine Keeper is not regarded as having a seat on the Witan Council, and hence has no vote in the Council, but may attend and participate in the Council on the same basis as Acting Heads of Temples.
7. The imperium of a Witan Shrine includes;
a) Registration of Outer Court Members
b) Formal and informal worship services.
c) Community-oriented and charitable activities.
d) Registration of Outer Court Members.
e) Formal teaching and initiation of Clergy subject to the terms discussed above.
f) Teaching of other classes or materials as may be desired.
g) Status as a formal body of the Tradition.
8. The imperium of a Witan Shrine excludes;
a) Vote on the Witan Council.
H. PROTO-TEMPLE
1. A Proto-Temple is a Witan Shrine founded in expectation of its later becoming a Temple. At this time all new Correllian Temples must spend at least one year as a Proto-temple prior to being officially chartered as Temple of the Tradition.
2. A Proto-Temple functions in the same manner as a Witan Shrine, described above and it is focused toward developing the functions of a Temple. A Proto-temple must maintain good records of its membership and finances. A Proto-Temple may register Outer Court Members like a Shrine, but may also teach and initiate Clerical students under the terms described below.
3. A Proto-Temple is expected to hold ritual gatherings, and to fulfill the other functions normally expected of a Temple. A Proto-temple may hold informal rituals like any other Shrine, but it also may hold formal rituals in the name of the Tradition (within the scope of the Proto Temple Keeper’s imperium) and it may also formally teach initiatory and other classes.
4. The Keeper of a Proto-Temple must be a member of the Third Degree High Priesthood, or a person studying toward Third Degree and under the imperium of a Third Degree sponsor approved by the Council of Elders.
5. A Proto-Temple may initiate students, providing that the Proto-Temple Keeper holds Third Degree status. If the Proto-Temple Keeper does not yet have Third Degree status, initiations must either be via self-initiation or must be conducted by the Proto-Temple Keeper’s Third Degree sponsor or by another Third Degree High Priest/ess acting as the representative of the sponsor.
6. A Proto-Temple is considered a formal body of the Tradition. A Proto-Temple Keeper is not regarded as having a vote on the Witan Council, but may attend and participate in the Witan Council on the same basis as Acting Heads of Temples.
7. The imperium of a Proto-Temple includes;
a) Registration of Outer Court Members
b) Formal and informal worship services.
c) Community-oriented and charitable activities.
d) Registration of Outer Court Members.
e) Formal teaching and initiation of Clergy subject to the terms discussed above.
f) Teaching of other classes or materials as may be desired.
g) Status as a formal body of the Tradition.
8. The imperium of a Proto-Temple excludes;
a) Vote on the Witan Council.
I. TEMPLES
1. Among the principle functions of a Temple is the regular performance of worship ceremonies, especially in conjunction with the eight major holidays. A Temple may conduct formal ceremonies in the Tradition's name (such as initiations) as well the various holiday ceremonies and any other ceremonies it wishes.
2. A Temple may formally teach and initiate new Clergy of all Degrees, as well as register new Outer Court Members.
3. The Temple is responsible for registering all such new members and advances in member's status with the Tradition.
4. A Correllian Temple may also speak on behalf of the Tradition in matters of established policy. However in matters where no established policies have been adopted, each Temple should remember to speak only for itself.
5. Temples are encouraged to involve themselves in community activities, charitable activities, and ministerial outreach programs -especially in their local Pagan community. Moreover Temples are encouraged to build a social infrastructure for their members to strengthen bonds between them as well as provide assistance in times of need.
6. The inner workings of a Correllian Temple are pretty much left up to its members and leadership. All Correllian Temples are part of the integrated whole of the Tradition in their outer functioning, but are also largely independent in their inner functioning. The Tradition requires certain structural elements whose purpose is to facilitate smooth interactions between Temple and Tradition, as well as between Temples in general.
7. A Correllian Temple may only be created by charter of the Tradition, which may only be granted by the Tradition Heads through the Chancellor's Office. This is because a Correllian Temple serves as an official body of the Tradition, and because it shares in the Traditions tax status, necessitating close relations with the central leadership of the Tradition. A charter establishes a Temples name, initial leadership, and identity within the Tradition.
8. In addition, when a Temple is chartered its initial Temple Head is also chartered and empowered to set up and administer the Temple. Only one person may be seated as Temple Head, and this person is solely responsible for the maintenance of the temple and for representing it to the Tradition.
9. Ordinarily a Temple may only be headed by a Third Degree High Priest/ess. In certain situations however the Tradition may charter a Cleric of lesser Degree who is studying for Third Degree to serve as Acting Temple Head under the direct imperium of a Third Degree sponsor. In this case the Third Degree Sponsor must oversee the actions of the Acting Temple Head until s/he has attained Third Degree status in her/his own right.
10. The Temple Head will set up the Temple’s initial Board of Directors. A Temple Head may also appoint a Co-Head of Temple who will aid in the daily running of the Temple. The Co-Head has equal dignity with the Head of Temple, but a slightly lesser imperium. A Co-Head of Temple may attend and address meetings of the Witan Council, but the Temple has only one vote in the Council, and it is the Temple Head who is responsible for casting it. This is because the Temple Head is chartered by the Tradition based upon the Tradition’s knowledge of and trust in her or him, while the appointed Co-Head of a Temple may not be well known by the Tradition.
11. Occasionally a Co-Head of Temple may -at the discretion of the Tradition leadership-be granted full standing in the Witan, but this is not to be expected. Commonly the Head and Co-Head of a Temple will be its Chief Priestess and Chief Priest, or vice versa, but this need not always be so.
12. A Temple must also have a Chief Director who is responsible to the Tradition for maintaining the Temple's records and paperwork. Initially this is often the same person as the Temple Head.
13. Correllian Temples are expected to conform to the basic tenets of Correllianism, but are given great leeway in the actual running of the Temple.
14. Correllian Temples are responsible to sponsor shrines in their geographic location or that they sponsor through an existing relationship with the Shrine or Shrine Keeper. Temples are to provide care and support to their sponsored Shrines and to guide sponsored Shrine Keepers in all tradition matters.
15. The imperium of a Temple includes;
a) Registration of new Outer Court Members
b) The right to formally teach Clerical and other classes in the Tradition's name
c) Initiation of new Clergy
d) Conducting formal ceremonies in the Tradition's name
e) Tax exempt status through the Tradition (as soon as this shall be in place)
f) Representation by the Head of Temple in the Witan Council
g) The right to speak on behalf of the Tradition in matters of established policy
16. The imperium of a Temple excludes;
a) The right to speak on behalf of the Tradition in matters of unresolved policy
b) Making commitments of any sort on behalf of the Tradition unless specifically empowered to do so (in writing)
c) Superseding or ignoring the rules of the Tradition as set out in our bylaws, and collateral writings
J. HOUSES OF CONTEMPLATION
1. The Correllian Tradition strongly favors the development of Contemplative Orders focused on meditation and self development. These Orders may be based upon temporary or longer-term retirement from the mundane world. We believe it is important for people to be able to get away from the pressures of the world for spiritual retreat and recreation.
2. We feel that an ideal period for such spiritual retreat for most people would be from a few days to a few weeks. To this end we desire to found one or more Contemplative Houses to provide for this need. These Contemplative Houses would be available to members of the Correllian Tradition for spiritual retreats whenever needed. In addition they could sponsor classes and workshops for Tradition members as well as the general public.
III. DEGREES OF MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the either the Outer or the Inner Court of the Correllian Tradition does not in and of itself guarantee acceptance into the membership of any given Correllian Shrine or Temple.
A. OUTER COURT
1. Outer Court Members are registered members of the Tradition who are not members of the Priesthood. The Outer Court constitutes the laity of the Tradition.
2. DEDICANT -A Dedicant is a postulant cleric, who has dedicated a period of one year and one day to study and training toward the Priesthood. At the end of that period the Dedicant may return to Outer Court status, or be offered First Degree initiation, at the discretion of the Temple.
3. HONORARY –Individual Correllian Temples may extend Honorary Temple Membership to any person whom they shall choose. These Honorary Members may be treated as either Outer Court or Inner Court by the Temple which grants the status. Such Honorary Members are members of the Temple, not of the Correllian Tradition as such.
B. INNER COURT – DEGREES OF PRIESTHOOD:
1. FIRST DEGREE – A Novice Priest/ess. The First Degree Priest/ess should be familiar with the details of the Wiccan faith, having a thorough grounding in Wiccan philosophy and traditions. The First Degree Priest/ess should be able to answer most questions about Wicca on a practical (as opposed to philosophical) level. The First Degree Priest/ess should be able to take any role in ritual with reasonable confidence, short of ritual leader.
2. SECOND DEGREE – Full Priest/ess. The Second Degree Priest/ess should be able to take any role in ritual, and answer most questions about Wicca, whether practical or philosophical. The Second Degree Priest/ess should be able to manipulate energy in ritual and other settings, with reasonable competence. The Second Degree Priestess should be familiar with most Wiccan rituals and techniques, and be able to undertake them without direct guidance.
3. THIRD DEGREE – High Priest/ess. The Third Degree High Priest/ess should be able to answer all questions about Wicca, and to facilitate all Wiccan rituals met with in the ordinary service of a Temple. The Third Degree High Priest/ess should be competent in energy work, should be able to deliver an Oracle or Spirit message, and perform the ceremony of Drawing Down the Moon.
4. CLERICAL INITIATION –Only a Third Degree High Priest/ess or one acting under the imperium of a Third Degree High Priest/ess can initiate persons into the Correllian Clergy. When a Cleric acting under the imperium of a Third Degree High Priest/ess achieves Third Degree status in their own right, any initiations which they have performed under the imperium of their Sponsor shall thereafter be considered part of their own lineage. If however a Cleric acting under the imperium of a Sponsor never achieves Third Degree status, initiations they have performed shall trace through the lineage of their Sponsor.
C. WITHDRAWAL OF RECOGNITION
1. The Correllian Tradition reserves the right to extend or withdraw its imperium at its own discretion, as decided by the Heads and Officers of the Tradition through the office of the Chancellor. No other conditions including custom, tradition, or prevailing opinion, shall take precedence over the discretion of the Heads and Officers of the Tradition with the sole exception of these bylaws.
2. Any Charters or Recognition given by the Tradition may also be withdrawn by the Tradition for any reason whatsoever which the Heads of the Tradition shall see fit. Similarly recognition of Priestly Degrees may also be withdrawn if, in the opinion of the Heads of the Tradition, the initiate has profaned their initiation and forsworn their Priesthood through breaking their initiatory vows or through unworthy acts against society or the Tradition itself. (In instances of self-initiation, where the actual ceremony has been performed without the presence of a High Priest/ess, it shall be assumed that the customary vows are used.)
3. By the same token, those who are under the Tradition’s imperium whether by Outer Court Membership, Clerical initiation, or holding the status of a Recognized or Chartered body of the sorts outlined above, shall be free to leave the Traditions imperium at their own discretion. This shall be a simple matter of notifying the Tradition except in the case of Chartered bodies. In the case of Chartered bodies a process shall be established for the purpose of making sure that the rights of the individual members are respected, and that any properties being used by the Chartered body, but actually belonging to the Tradition, shall be returned to the Tradition.
IV- CHANGING THE BY-LAWS
A. The Correllian Tradition reserves the right to alter these by-laws in whatever manner we shall deem appropriate as the need shall arise. At this time it has pleased the Heads and Elders of the Correllian Tradition that the power to alter the by-laws be vested exclusively in the office of Chancellor, who is alone empowered to by virtue of said office to execute any changes in the by-laws. This most recent revision of these bylaws took place in June, Year 12 Aquarius (2012 AD).
[70] HISTORY
The Correllian Nativist Tradition is based upon the teachings of members of the High-Correll family. The High-Correll family were descended from a line of Cherokee Didanvwisgi who intermarried with a line of Scottish Traditional Witches, whose descendants were further influenced by Aradian Witchcraft and by the Spiritualist Church.
The founder of the Tradition is the blv. Orpheis Caroline High Correll. She is said to have founded the Tradition as an entity separate from her ancestry, on September 4, 1479 Pisces (1879 AD).

[49] Milestones
- The Correll Mother Temple in Danville, Illinois was founded on September 4, 1879. Blv. Orpheis Caroline High Correll would head the church until her death in 1939.
- The final revisions of the Correllian Degree lessons would be presented to the Tradition in 1598 Pisces (1998 AD).
- Under Lady Krystel and Chancellor Don's leadership (since 1979), the tradition sought to expand its outreach and began an ongoing educational program which resulted in the co-creation of the Internet-based Witch School with Ed Hubbard of Psychic Services Incorporated in 2001. Witch School has since become an independent, multi-tradition entity.
TRADITION POSITIONS
- Chancellor - The chief executive officer of the Correllian Nativist Tradition, Paramount High Priest. These two following positions are also the Joint Heads of the Correllian Tradition, which form a diarchy.
- First Priestess - First Priestess is responsible for maintaining the sanctity of the Correllian Tradition and its connection with the Ancestors and the Divine. The initiation of all Priesthood, Temples and Orders ultimately derive authority from this sanctity.
- First Priest - First Priest is responsible for coordinating relations between Correllian Temples, and acts as chairperson for the Witan Council. The First Priest is responsible for the Tradition’s relations with other Wiccan and Pagan Traditions and is also responsible for maintaining the Tradition’s history, internal records, and its publications.
- First Elder - The First Elder of the Tradition is the principle advisor to the Tradition Heads, and to the Tradition as a whole.
- Council of Elders - Is an advisory body made up of the Officers of the Correllian Tradition. The Council of Elders might be described as the “cabinet” of the Tradition, being a council whose non-binding opinion is solicited to help shape Tradition-wide policy.
- First Director -The First Director is responsible for maintaining the Tradition’s legal standing and records and coordinating relations between the various Chief Directors of Temples.
- Witan Council - The Witan Council is made up of the Heads of all Correllian Temples, members of the Correllian Council of Elders, and the Officers and Heads of the Correllian Tradition. The Witan Council is an advisory body whose principle duty is to confirm the succession to the offices of First priestess and First Priest.
INNER COURT - Clergy Positions
First Priesthood
Arch Priesthood
Third Degree - High Priest/ess
Second Degree - Priest/ess
First Degree - Rev. , Priest/ess
Dedicant
Formal Shrine - A Formal Shrine is basically the same as a Personal Shrine: a private worship center maintained by an individual Correllian Tradition member of either Inner or Outer Court. The difference is that a Formal Shrine is dedicated to a specific project, event, or program of a social or charitable nature which the Tradition endorses. A Formal shrine is created by Charter rather than recognition. To be granted a charter as a Formal Shrine a Shrine must meet these criteria;
- Personal Shrine - A Personal Shrine is a personal expression of the Shrine Keeper's spirituality and may be undertaken by any Tradition member.
- Orders - Although regarded as an independent body, an Order is formed by a Charter from the Tradition, which may only be granted by the Heads of Tradition through the office of the Chancellor. An Order may be formed around the study and practice of any subject of interest. An Order commonly has a single Head who is responsible for organizing and facilitating it.
- Meritorious Orders - Membership in the Meritorious Orders is given to honor people who have distinguished themselves by exceptional acts of service to the Tradition, to Paganism as a whole, or to the world.
- Contemplative Orders - Contemplative Orders are focused on meditation and self-development. To this end these Contemplative Houses would be available to members of the Correllian Tradition for spiritual retreats whenever needed. In addition they could sponsor classes and workshops for Tradition members as well as the general public.
- Temple Heads (Chief Director) - Temple Heads are established by charter. The first Head of a given Temple is considered the Founding Head of Temple. A Head of Temple must be a member of the High Priesthood.
- Board of Directors - Voting committee of the Temple for day to day decisions of the Temple.
- Joint Heads - Co-Head
- Acting Temple Head - One that is not yet Third Degree, but is Chartered Temple Keeper under Imperium of Third Degree sponsor.
- Proto-Temple Head - Chartered Keeper of Proto-Temple
- Witan Shrine Keeper - Keeper of a Witan Shrine must be a member of the Third Degree High Priesthood, or a person studying toward Third Degree and under the imperium of a Third Degree sponsor approved by the Council of Elders [3]

5. The imperium of an Order includes;
a) The pursuit of such activities as may be suitable to the Orders subject matter
b) The organization of Order members to the extent and in the manner appropriate to the Orders subject matter, including the maintenance of member records and the organization of member meetings
c) Registration of Outer Court Members
6. The imperium of an Order excludes;
a) Teaching of classes outside of the Orders subject matter
b) Training or initiation of Clergy
7. The imperium of a Study Group includes;
a) Informal study of Clerical lessons and other Correllian materials, or materials of interest to members
b) Informal ceremonies of any sort
8. The imperium of a Study Group excludes;
a) Formal teaching of Clerical lessons or initiation
b) Formal ceremonies conducted in the Tradition's name
c) Registration of Outer Court Members
d) Claims to legal or financial status through the Tradition
C. SHRINES
8. The imperium of a Personal Shrine includes;
a) Registration of Outer Court Members
b) The performance of all manner of informal rituals and activities
c) The study of Clerical lessons and other Correllian materials, or materials of interest to members
9. The imperium of a Personal Shrine excludes;
a) Formal rituals conducted in the name of the Tradition.
b) Formal teaching of Clerical classes or initiation
c) Claims to legal or financial status through the Tradition
d) Representation on the Witan Council
5. The imperium of a Formal Shrine differs from that of a Personal Shrine in the following ways; the imperium of a Formal Shrine includes;
a) Recognition under the Tradition's tax status
b) A requirement for charitable or ministerial outreach activity
7. The imperium of a Witan Shrine includes;
a) Registration of Outer Court Members
b) Formal and informal worship services.
c) Community-oriented and charitable activities.
d) Registration of Outer Court Members.
e) Formal teaching and initiation of Clergy subject to the terms discussed above.
f) Teaching of other classes or materials as may be desired.
g) Status as a formal body of the Tradition.
8. The imperium of a Witan Shrine excludes;
a) Vote on the Witan Council.
7. The imperium of a Proto-Temple includes;
a) Registration of Outer Court Members
b) Formal and informal worship services.
c) Community-oriented and charitable activities.
d) Registration of Outer Court Members.
e) Formal teaching and initiation of Clergy subject to the terms discussed above.
f) Teaching of other classes or materials as may be desired.
g) Status as a formal body of the Tradition.
8. The imperium of a Proto-Temple excludes;
a) Vote on the Witan Council.
I. TEMPLES
15. The imperium of a Temple includes;
a) Registration of new Outer Court Members
b) The right to formally teach Clerical and other classes in the Tradition's name
c) Initiation of new Clergy
d) Conducting formal ceremonies in the Tradition's name
e) Tax exempt status through the Tradition (as soon as this shall be in place)
f) Representation by the Head of Temple in the Witan Council
g) The right to speak on behalf of the Tradition in matters of established policy
16. The imperium of a Temple excludes;
a) The right to speak on behalf of the Tradition in matters of unresolved policy
b) Making commitments of any sort on behalf of the Tradition unless specifically empowered to do so (in writing)
c) Superseding or ignoring the rules of the Tradition as set out in our bylaws, and collateral writings
