LUSTRATION OF THE ANCESTORS

SUNDAY - THE HOLY LUSTRATION ITSELF

SUNDAY

At last Sunday morning dawned, and we prepared to enact the sacred Lustration itself.

The day began with a Chanting workshop led by Sue Longtin in the beautiful back yard of the Temple.

Then we gathered for the Lustration itself. This was the best Lustration yet, and everyone performed beautifully.

Rev. Debbe Tompkins acted as Guardian, offering the official challenge which begins the ceremony.

Rev. Aine Massie acted as Vocifer, and Rev. Reanna Marie acted as Sonifer.

Alex Linares cleansed the Circle with Salt and Water while Rev. Jason Mycroft
charged the Circle with Fire and Air.

Left: Having given the challenge Lady Debbe kneels, chanting a sacred incantation as the procession begins. Chancellor's Herald Rev. Jason Mycroft and Alex Linares of Selu, who will bless and charge the Circle, enter beneath the crossed swords of Paladins Rev. David Webb and Rev. Jim DeMontezon.

Rev. Mike McBride and Rev. Windy LaJoie of Hooded Crone Shrine cast the Circle as the rite begins.

Rev. Mike McBride and Rev. Windy LaJoie jointly cast the Circle.

Rev. Serenity acted as Junovocator invoking the Higher Self of Rev. Ruthann, while Rev. Karla Summers acted as Genevocator, invoking my own Higher Self.

Lady Ruthann and I then attuned to the archetypes of our offices, and began the invocation of the Seventy Gods.

Rev. Dr. Rodney Dysinger acted as Guardian of the East: Rev. Terry Power
acted as Guardian of the South: Rev. Mark Crewson acted as Guardian of the West: and Rev. Casey Carraher acted as Guardian of the North.

The Great Rite was performed by Rev. Sapphire Star as Lector, Rev. Leigh
Dupee, and Rev. Mestra as Rite Priest and Priestess.

Rev. Virginia Powell stood in for First Elder Lady Bitterwind, with Jeremy Taylor
acting as her Herald, for the Blessing of the Book of the Living.

This role is normally performed by First Elder Bitterwind, whose recent illness made it impossible for her attend, with Rev. Kim Reffet acting as her Herald. Lady Virginia bravely undertook the role at the last minute and did a great job. Jeremy holds the new pages which have been prepared for the Book, bearing the names of all persons who have joined the Tradition since the last Lustration of the Living. These will be Blessed before being added to the Book during the ceremony.

Next came the Blessing and mixing of waters from the
sacred Vermilion and sacred Hudson rivers, to be used as Lustral water for the
ceremony.

The Ancestors were invoked, delivering their Oracle through me, and
Blessing the Lustral water. Lady Virginia and Jeremy then led the four Quarter
Guardians through the actual act of Lustration.

Rev. Leigh and Rev. Mestra then presided over the Toast.

There then followed many thankyous and announcements.

The Deemsters announced that all five Shrines who sought Deeming had been
Deemed worthy of full Temple status. Congratulations to the Temple of Sedna,
Temple of the Green Man, Temple of the Dragon, Temple of the Celtic Cross, and
Temple of Heritage!!

Rev. Debbe Tompkins, Rev. Mark Crewson, and Rev. Virginia Powell were then all formally seated in the Witan Council.

We also had the great pleasure of announcing that Rev. Dragonfly of
Nordstjernens Temple in Denmark has made the Danish version of our First Degree Lessons available in her country!

Congratulations Rev. Dragonfly!!

Finally, the Shrine of Gaia had prepared Blessed herb bags which were
distributed by the Shrines representatives to all present.

Again, we want to thank everyone who worked so hard to put this event on, and
to make it come off so smoothly. We are all grateful and impressed. Thank you
everyone!

The Correllian Lustration / Witchschool Pagan Education and Leadership
Conference was an amazing and remarkable event which we all enjoyed and the memory of which we shall surely cherish. Now we must take what we have learned and, in true Correllian style, apply it to the real world. There is much to be done, and we will continue to keep you updated on what we are doing as a Tradition and at Witchschool.com.

Many Blessings to you all!
